Travel

Admittedly, I haven't traveled to as many places as I would’ve liked to at my age. I’ve vacationed in the Las Vegas Strip as well as Dauphin Island, Alabama, but besides that, I haven’t ventured much out of my state. I wish for that to change in the near future, but until then, I would like to discuss some of the places I would like to visit. I’ve always been interested in seeing what other parts of the country and the world have to offer, especially places that have a different culture and atmosphere than what I’m used to. I think traveling would also give me the opportunity to experience new things and find new inspiration for my creative interests.

I’ve always wanted to visit New York, especially because of how much history and culture is packed into one city. As someone interested in photography and filmmaking, I think it would be an amazing place to explore with a camera and capture the energy of the city. I’d love to walk through the different neighborhoods and see how each one has its own look and personality. There’s also something exciting about being surrounded by so many movies, musicians, and other forms of art that have come out of the city. I think visiting New York would give me a lot of new inspiration and a chance to see things from a different perspective.

One photographer who has especially inspired me is Steven Siegal, who took a lot of photographs of New York during the 1980s. Seeing his pictures has made me want to experience that same city for myself and see what I could capture with my own lens. Check him out here.

U.S. Cities I'd Like to Visit

Now outside of the U.S., I’ve always wanted to visit Prague because I have ancestral roots in the Czech Republic, so there’s a personal connection that makes the idea of going there especially meaningful to me. I’d like to see the places where my family may have once lived and get a better understanding of the culture and history that I come from. Prague also seems like a really beautiful city, with its old architecture, narrow streets, and historic buildings that would give me plenty to photograph. I think it would be interesting to experience a place that feels so different from where I grew up while still having a connection to my own family history. More than anything, I think visiting Prague would give me a chance to connect with a part of my background that I’ve never gotten to experience for myself.
